The Sand Sculpture Museum Mysore is one of the most beautiful sightseeing spots that you can visit in Mysore. Located on the way to the Chamundi Hills this beautiful sand museum is unique in its own way. With creative artworks and finest craftsmanship this museum exhibits multiple sculptures that will leave you in awe. This themed museum displays around 150 sand sculptures here in 16 different themes. Spread over an area of 135000 sq feet the sculptures here are made using 115 truckloads of sand. From wildlife to the heritage of Mysore to various religions and epics this museum houses sculptures from different areas.

At the entrance of this museum there is a huge intricate sculpture of Lord Ganesha which is 15 feet high. Some other notable sculptures here are of Goddess Chamundeshwari, Lord Krishna and Arjuna on a horse drawn chariot and Laughing Buddha. Also there is a sculpture of the king of Mysore, King Srikanta Duttta Narasimharaja Wadiyar in a seated position on his throne. You will also find sculptures of Santa Clause, Christmas tree, Disneyland, Zodiac Wheel, Ancient Egypt, Tom and Jerry Cartoon characters etc.

Another special attraction here is the 3D Selfie Gallery which houses 3D artwork of artist N M Chaluvaraj. There are a total 17 different works that he has created here. The major attractions of these artworks are that they would look flat to you until you interact with them. Once you interact with the artwork it would appear in a three dimensional form.
