By air

There is no airport in Coorg so you will have to opt for the nearest airports of Mangalore, Mysore or Kannur. The Mangalore airport is an international airport which is 165 km away from the Chiklihole Reservoir. It would take around 4 hours to reach Chiklihole from the airport by road. You will have to hire a car or take a cab to reach the reservoir. Other nearest airport is the Mysore airport that is a domestic airport and it is 115 km away from Chiklihole. It would take around 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach Chiklihole reservoir from the airport.

You can also opt for the Kannur airport that is 95 km away and takes 2 hours and 40 minutes to reach Chiklihole Reservoir. From the airport you will have to hire a car to reach the reservoir as there are no public transport options to directly reach the reservoir.

By train

There is also no railway station in Coorg and you will have to opt for the nearest railway stations in Mysore, Hassan and Mangalore in Karnataka to reach this reservoir. From Hassan railway station the reservoir is 90 km away and you can reach there in 2 hours and 14 minutes. Also you can opt for Mangalore railway station that is 157 km away from Chiklihole. It would take about 4 hours to reach there from the railway station in Mangalore.

Moreover, from Kannur railway station the reservoir is 117 km away and the time to reach there would be 3 hours and 15 minutes. From Thalassery railway station Chiklihole is 113 km away and you can reach there in 3 hours and 10 minutes. From each of the railway stations it would be more convenient to reach the location via cab or a car.
