How to reach Dubare Elephant Camp
By air
The Mangalore airport, Mysore airport and the Kannur airport are the nearest airports to reach the Dubare Elephant Camp. From the Mangalore airport the elephant camp is located at a distance of 179 km and it would take around 4 hours and 11 minutes to reach the camp. Also from the Mysore airport the elephant camp is located 116 km away. You can reach the elephant camp in about 2 hours and 31 minutes from the Mysore airport. From the airports you will have to hire a cab or take a taxi to reach the Dubare Elephant Camp.
By train
The Mysore railway station and the Mangalore railway stations are the nearest railway stations to reach the Dubare Elephant Camp. Best time to visit Dubare Elephant Camp
The ideal time to visit this area is after the monsoon season from the month of September to March. This is the time when the weather remains very pleasant and you will be able to enjoy the varied activities at the camp to the fullest. During the summer the weather at the Dubare camp is around 34 degrees and it drops down to 21 degrees after monsoon. However, avoid visiting here during the monsoon months though. When it is an elephant camp the most interesting activity here is obviously the elephant ride. This camp offers various activities related to elephants. One of the popular activities here is the three hour long elephant interaction. There are other activities too like a bath activity of 45 minutes. In this activity the tourists can give a bath to the elephants. Along with that they can also feed them with food items like sugarcane, ragi, jaggery, coconuts or bananas. This activity also includes a 45 minute elephant ride into the jungle which is equally interesting.

1. You must wear good quality shoes with a good grip here as you might have to cross the river. However if you wish you can also leave your shoes outside the camp and cross the river barefoot.
2. For elderly people and kids this might not be a suitable location to visit as the area gets really slippery during summer while crossing the river.
3. You should carry an extra pair of clothes if you are willing to give a bath to the elephants as you will get wet during the activity.
4. It would be better if you travel light here. You would not find it comfortable to visit the location with a lot of luggage.
