Karyasiddhi Hanuman Temple History

Lord Hanuman was the chief devotee of Lord Rama. He helped Lord Rama along with his group of “Vanar Sena” or army of monkeys to get back abducted Devi Sita from Ravana’s control. In a way Hanuman fulfilled Rama’s desire of rescuing Devi Sita. So the devotees believe Hanuman Ji here will also listen to their wishes and fulfill them. The word “Karya” literally means work or effort of the devotees and the word “Siddhi” literally means fulfillment. It is believed that if you make an effort in front of Lord Hanuman Ji of the Karya Siddhi Anjaneya Temple then your wishes will be fulfilled by him.

The Karyasiddhi Temple in Girinagar is a 41 year old temple. It was constructed by Param Pujya Sri Ganapathi Sachhidananda Swamiji. The temple is built in Octagonal shape. The chief presiding deity is a Hanuman idol that weighs 200 tonnes. The idol was created over a span of 10 months by more than 18 sculptors. There is a huge 40feet tall Hanuman Statue at the entry point of the temple as well.

Right now the temple is maintained by the Avadhoota Datta Peetham and they are also involved in a lot of charitable activities like providing education and healthcare at an affordable rate to the underprivileged section of people.

Coconut Puja Rule

Karyasiddhi Hanuman Temple Coconut Puja Rule

There is a specific process that you need to follow in the Karyasiddhi Hanuman temple in order to get your wish fulfilled. You will need to have complete faith to go through the set procedure. The process is known as Poorna Phala Samarpan. This means offering a whole Coconut to Hanuman Ji. At first you need to pay Rs.100 to the temple authorities and you will receive a coconut with a number stamp. Then you will have to sit in front of the Hanuman idol holding that coconut in your hand. Look into the eyes of Hanuman Ji and whisper your deep desire or “Sankalpa”. You must be as specific as possible with your wish in order to get it fulfilled.

After that you will have to tie the whole coconut at the temple. Next you will have to chant the Karyasiddhi Anjaneya Hanuman Temple mantra 108times every day, which will be provided to you by the temple authorities, for the next 16days. This is called the Poorna Samarpan Deeksha Mantra. You will also be given a sacred orange thread to tie on your wrist for 16days. You need to visit the temple twice a week and perform 41 Pradakshinas around the temple in the course of that 16 days period. In this period of 16 days you will have to be on a strict vegetarian diet and refrain from taking alcohol.

On the 16th day you will have to visit the temple and your allotted coconut will be given back to you. The coconut should be used in making Prasad at your home and then must be distributed among friends and family. Also you need to untie the orange thread from your wrist and give it back to the temple authority.

Other Rituals

Nitya Puja, Sri Karya Siddhi Anjaneya Sindura Puja and Aarti are done during the morning and evening. Along with that Abhishekh is performed in the morning everyday and Prasad is distributed to the devotees. Every evening there is Mangal Aarti followed by serving Prasad to the devotees.
