One such beautiful waterfall in Gujarat is the Zarwani Waterfall. Located inside the Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, this one is a beautiful waterfall that cascades down from a height of 25 metres. The crystal clear water here, along with the serene and calm ambiance will win over your heart. Zarwani Waterfall ticket price: There is no entry fee as such but there is a fee for the vehicle that you need to pay at the check post in Thawadia. This is Rs. 400 for a car and Rs. 270 for a bike.

How to reach Zarwani Waterfall

By air

If you are travelling by air then the nearest airport to reach this waterfall is the Vadodara Airport. This airport is 97 km away from the Zarwani Waterfall and it would take around 2 hours to reach there from the airport. You will easily find shared rides as well as private cars from the airport itself to reach here.

By train

The Vadodara Railway Station is the nearest railway station to reach the waterfalls. From the station the waterfall is at a distance of 2 hours and 30 minutes. However if you are travelling from anywhere nearby or from the New Delhi region then the nearest stations would be Ratlam and Mathura. So you can opt for that as well. Another nearest railway station is the Kevadiya Railway Station that is only 15 km away from the waterfall.

By road

If you are travelling from anywhere nearby or from any nearby cities you can easily reach here by road. From Rajpipla the waterfall is about 28 km away. While travelling from cities like Mumbai or New Delhi you can drive through National Highway 8. Zarwani Waterfall distance from Statue of Unity is around 12 km and from the Thawadia Check post the distance is about 7 km.

The ideal time to visit this pristine waterfall is from the months of November to February. Moreover the colder months are ideal to visit here because the weather is pleasant. Due to the pleasant weather here it would be extremely comfortable to explore the whole area here. Also during these times the average temperature ranges from around 20 degrees to 30 degrees which is moderate. Avoid visiting here during the peak summer months though. Most of the areas here are in the open and the extreme summer heat would make it too tough for you to travel here. Even for sightseeing as well as trekking the summer weather will be very inappropriate. So to enjoy the best of the location, plan your visit accordingly.

Located 90 km away from Vadodara, the Zarwani Waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Gujarat. A popular sightseeing spot, the Zarwani Waterfall is a beautiful natural escapade in India that the tourists love visiting. This waterfall is located deep into the heart of Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary. Both the locations are popular spots for tourists in Gujarat. In the district of Narmada this waterfall offers breathtaking views. This is a perennial waterfall and is a perfect spot for varied activities like trekking, picnic and wildlife photography as well.

The Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna. And therefore this location is popular for its rich vegetation as well. You can even spot a good number of wild animals here too, like varieties of deers, sloth bear, hyena and other wild animals. Some rare animals like barking deer, rhesus monkeys are also popular here.

Tourist attractions near Zarwani Waterfall

Samot Malsamot Eco Campsite

This is the best activity that you can ideally enjoy at this location. With lush green vegetation with teak forests and multiple tall trees the spot looks breathtaking. You can very well enjoy it here and enjoy the view that it offers. One thing that you must not miss out on here is the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. They are a whole beauty if you can observe it here. Also the area is comparatively cooler here due to its elevation. So it would be very comfortable for you to enjoy the area here. You will find another local waterfall nearby, the Ninai Waterfall which is a beautiful waterfall. Even though it’s smaller than the Zarwani Waterfall it is indeed beautiful to look at nevertheless.

Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary

This wildlife sanctuary is one of the best sanctuaries that spreads across an area of 607 sq km. The Zarwani Waterfall is located inside this sanctuary so obviously you need to explore this as well. This sanctuary houses more than 575 species of fauna from tropical to deciduous plants. Also it houses a huge number of animals here that includes leopards, hyenas, rhesus monkeys etc. Not just that the sanctuary is also popular for its bird enthusiasts as well. With natural beauty in abundance and the Zarwani Waterfall as its backdrop this wildlife sanctuary is surely a must visit.

Shoolpaneshwar Temple

The Shoolpaneshwar Temple is a temple dedicated to Hindu deity Lord Shiva. Surrounded by beautiful forest a small boat ride is required to reach this beautiful temple. Near the temple you will also find a campsite here that the Gujarat Tourism Board has set up. The location is also popular for activities like trekking and hiking. Also the temple is an important temple for the devotees of Lord Shiva. During the month of Shravana around August to September the temple witnesses a huge chunk of devotees visiting the temple.

Sardar Sarovar Dam

Located near Rajpipla this dam is an important dam supplying hydroelectric power to multiple states. It is an important sightseeing spot here as well because of the natural beauty that it offers. So you can surely plan to visit this spot nearby as well.

Things to remember before visiting the Zarwani Waterfall

1.       This is a naturally beautiful spot that is like the gift of Mother Nature. So if not anything else, you should at least be mindful in order to protect nature. Do not do any such activity that can harm nature and its natural beauty.

2.       Watch out for slippery rocks while trekking or moving your way here. You should be extra careful at the location so that you don’t lose your balance. And especially when you are near the waterfall take extra caution.

3.       According to the visiting rules of the forests and the authorities here smoking in any form is strictly prohibited here. The main idea behind this is to protect the space from forest fires that might happen due to the cigarette butts.

4.       If you are on the campsite make sure you are visiting the orientation centre here first. Furthermore this would ensure that you have prior knowledge about the location and what it offers. Also it would be more helpful for you in navigating through this location even better.

5.       You must use the electricity here mindfully and make sure you are not wasting it. Most of the campsites here run on solar energy and obviously you would not like to run out of it during an emergency. So be careful.

6.       You must wear a comfortable pair of shoes, preferably sports shoes for a better grip during the trekking. This trip would involve a lot of your walking so make sure you are wearing shoes that are comfortable.

7.       Try to travel as light as you can as it would help you in trekking. Otherwise, carrying a heavy luggage around would be much of a hassle.

8.       To visit the waterfall you will have to get permission from the Forest Office, so make sure you have it.

9.       Do not litter. It is your full responsibility to keep the surrounding clean. Moreover you should only dispose of the trash or waste in the designated trash bins.

10.   Do not use flash in your photography as it might be disturbing and distracting for the wild animals here.

11.   You should not carry along any hunting objects or weapons or sharp objects here.

12.   Do not pluck flowers or leaves as it is something that the authorities don’t allow here.

13.   You should not carry any device that makes loud noises like music systems or speakers. And even if you are carrying them make sure they are switched off.

14.   Do not remove any object in the campsite or inside the sanctuary.

15.   You must not indulge in any swift or sudden movement. Also do not be loud as that can scare off the animal.

16.   Do not try to get too close to any animals here.

17.   You must not travel with pets along with you if you are travelling here.
